At least 66 Zionist soldiers were wounded in the early hours of Tuesday morning when a Qassam rocket fired from the Gaza Strip struck A Zionist basic training base near Kibbutz Zikkim.
"While the rocket hit an empty tent used only in the daytime for administrative purposes, many soldiers were hit by shrapnel while sleeping in adjacent tents." Haaretz newspaper reported.
Many of the troops were lightly injured, suffering from minor injuries or shock.
The Islamic Jihad and the Popular Resistance Committees claimed responsibility for the operation saying that this operation is a response to the Zionist attacks on the Palestinian people.
During the last month , 54 Palestinian were killed and tens were injured in many attacks and incursions by the occupation forces.
A woman and her daughter were wounded by OF artillery fire in Beit Lahiya Tuesday morning, Medical sources reported.
